Four days of shiraz.
07 - 10 October2026
Two sit down masterclasses and two parties. Forty wines across four days, and almost none of them ever open in the shop.
The week
Four sessions and no two the same. Wednesday and Thursday are sit down masterclasses in the tasting room, ten wines each, run twice a day. Friday and Saturday the doors open, the glasses come out and twenty shiraz go on the tables.
Session 1 · Wednesday 7 October
Three producers, three wines each, and one wildcard to finish. Sitting down, glass by glass, in order. Fourteen seats a sitting, two sittings in the day, so everyone can hear and everyone gets asked what they think.

Hilltop south of Riebeek Kasteel. Blue schist, ground about 80 per cent rock.

Tim Atkin MW scored it 100 and made it his Red Wine of the Year.

The new release. First vintage under Eben Meiring.

Same hands, same year. Only the soil changes.

Granite of the Paardeberg.

Iron rich soils on the Kasteelberg. The rarest of the three.

The estate shiraz, and the bottom rung on purpose.

Shiraz led blend.

The flagship shiraz.

The wildcard, poured blind. Nobody gets told what it is until the glasses are down.
Three verticals side by side. We do not sell wine by the glass, so this is the one week of the year you get to line these up.
Session 2 · Thursday 8 October
A different ten. Ten benchmark shiraz from across the Cape, one from each of the places that matter, poured in order. Fourteen seats a sitting, two sittings in the day.

Polkadraai Hills.

Blue schist, hand printed label, no new oak.

The highest vineyards in the Cape.

One soil, bottled on its own.

The flagship shiraz.

Named for the ground it grew in.

ArtiSons Family Wines.

High on the Helderberg.

Bottelary Hills. Planted 1968, one of the first single vineyard wines in South Africa.

Niels Verburg's estate shiraz.
A different room to Wednesday. Come to both and you will have tasted twenty of the best shiraz in the country in two days.
Sessions 3 and 4 · Friday 9 and Saturday 10 October
No seating plan and no running order. Twenty shiraz from across the Cape are open at once, both nights. Come when you like, taste in whatever order you like, and stay as long as you like.
Every wine on the table is on the shelf. Taste it, then take it home.

Scan a ticket code with a scanner or your phone, or type the reference. It looks the booking up live and marks people in.
The PIN is in the Settings tab of the ticket sheet. It is asked for once, and only lives in this page until you close it.
Point it at the guest's code. It reads it on its own.
A handheld barcode scanner types the code and presses enter for you, so it works with no camera at all.
Check the sittings below, then give us your details. We hold the seats the moment you send this.
Leave the nought off the front.
Tickets are for a specific date, so please book with care. If you need to cancel, let us know as soon as you can.
